IRD Engineering has resulted awarded with a new contract in Romania, aimed at the provision of supervision services during the construction of Lot 2 of the motorway Bacău-Paşcani, which is part of the Autostrada A7 in Romania.

Also known as the Ploiești – Siret Motorway or the Moldavia Motorway, upon completion motorway A7 will link Ploiești to the north-eastern part of the country, partly along the Pan-European Corridor IX. It will run along the route Buzău, Focșani, Bacău, Roman, Pașcani, and Suceava, connecting to Ukraine’s M19 Highway near Siret. The total value of this strategic infrastructure project amounts to 6.7 billion euro.

The newly awarded sub-section, connecting the towns of Trifeşti and Gherăeşti, has a length of 19 kilometers. The project is managed by CNAIR and it is financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Program.

IRD Engineering operates in Romania through a branch office in Bucharest. The company is currently managing 9 important contracts all aimed the supervision of works for new or rehabilitated motorways. Recently the company contributed to the successful finalization of works on the Chețani – Câmpia Turzii section within the Transylvania Motorway, which was opened to traffic eight months ahead of schedule.
