We are pleased to announce that IRD Engineering has recently signed a new contract with the National Roads Administration (Administrația Națională a Drumurilor) of the Republic of Moldova for the supervision of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of key sections of Corridor 24, a strategic transport corridor that will improve climate-resilient connectivity for rural communities and enhance access to economic and social opportunities across the country. The project is financed by The World Bank Group under the Moldova Rural Connectivity Project.
Under this assignment, IRD Engineering will provide full FIDIC Engineer and Construction Supervision Services for approximately 49 km of regional roads, contributing to the modernization of Moldova’s transport network and the improvement of road safety, resilience and accessibility.
The programme includes the rehabilitation of key road sections and a wide range of infrastructure improvements, including major earthworks, new asphalt pavements, bridge rehabilitation, drainage systems, road safety equipment, sidewalks, bus stops and utility relocations. These investments will significantly enhance mobility, reduce travel times and strengthen connectivity between rural communities and economic centres.
As the FIDIC Engineer, IRD Engineering will oversee contract administration, construction supervision, quality assurance, environmental and social compliance, health and safety management, and the certification of works throughout the implementation period.
