Representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the Joint Venture IRD Engineering – Suez have just signed a new contract to provide supervision services for the Project “Water Supply and Sewerage in the Republic of Srpska II”, also known as WATSAN 2.

The ultimate goal of WATSAN is to improve the quality of water supply and sanitation services for about 215,000 residents in 24 municipalities and cities in the Republic of Srpska that participate in this project. It has a total value of 60 million euros (30 million euros financed by the European Investment Bank).

The new contract was signed in Banja Luka by the Minister of Finance of Republika Srpska, Mrs. Zora Vidović and the Regional Director of IRD Engineering, Mr. Dragan Kostadinov, with the presence of Mr. Nikola Tomic, Country Manager of IRD Engineering and various representatives of WATSAN 2 Project Implementation Unit.

Thanks to this new contract, a team from IRD Engineering and its partner company Suez will assist several local governments and utilities during the supervision of the construction of water supply and sewerage systems, and water and wastewater treatment plants. The projects will be implemented according to FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

IRD Engineering operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina through its subsidiary company IRD Inzenjering Doo, being licenced for the provision of engineering design and supervision services in accordance with the national regulations in the field.
