A consortium composed by IRD Engineering, Applus, Avensa, and Institut Vias, and under the leadership and management of WEglobal, has recently resulted awarded with a new contract in the Republic of Turkey.
The assignment, funded by the European Union, aims at harmonizing the Turkish legislation on road safety with the EU Directive 2008/96/EC and at enhancing the administrative capacities within the General Directorate of Highways to implement road infrastructure safety management.
Among other activities, a team of experts from the partner companies will identify necessary legislative amendments and will prepare draft law, bylaws, and guidelines. They will also elaborate handbooks and will organize and conduct training programmes on road safety impact assessment, road safety audit, road safety inspection and network safety management, taking the best practices from EU Member States.
