As can be seen at the video recently published by the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, works for upgrading the E-60 Highway are progressing well.

In this challenging project a team of IRD Engineering is supervising the construction of a new 4-lane cement concrete highway, 14 km in length, between Zemo Osiauri and Rikoti. The contract is divided in two lots, one financed by the EIB and the second by the WB.

Under the Project 21 bridges, 5 tunnels (one of them 1.7 km-long), reinforced concrete underpasses, culverts and drainage systems are being constructed.

IRD Engineering is implementing other assignments in Georgia. In JV with SPEA, the company has successfully finalized the Preparation of the Detailed Design and Tender Documents for the New Construction of the Khevi-Ubisa-Shorapani-Argveta section. This section runs 40 km along the Caucasian Mountains pass, easing the crossing through one of the most complex geologic and orographic areas along the transit corridor E-60.
