The project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and aims at the provision of works supervision services for the construction of a 18 km bypass and an interchange.

In order to modernise its transport and municipal infrastructure, the Government of Moldova has sought assistance from the EBRD to improve key sections of its road network.

Within this loan, IRD Engineering has resulted awarded with a contract to carry out the duties of “the Engineer” in accordance with FIDIC MDB Harmonised Edition of the Conditions of Contract for the construction of Slobozia Mare Bypass.

The designed road consists of 90% of new alignment and only 10% rehabilitation of the existing road, which connects Romania and Ukraine, crossing Moldova.

IRD is working in Moldova since 2011. Since then, the company has implemented several IFI-funded projects in the roads and railways sectors.
