The Civil Engineering Summer School in Armenia is a non-profit initiative co-organised by the National University of Architecture and Construction, the Road Administration from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, and IRD Engineering. It was launched for the first time in 2021 and last 11th July 2022 its second edition was officially open.
On its first edition, a group of students and young professionals had the opportunity to get acquainted with best practice in international road construction. Apart from contractual and design aspects, this also included imperative horizontal issues such as environmental, health and safety, road safety and social and gender aspects in infrastructure development projects. Thanks to the programme, its participants are now better equipped to participate in any kind of engineering project in Armenia and abroad. This is also the objective in this second edition, recently inaugurated.
The Course combines intensive practical training courses, field practice in ongoing construction projects, and a practice at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, including a group assignment on report preparation and presentation. Professors and instructors are coming from IRD Engineering, from the IFIs present in Armenia and from the Road Administration.
IRD Engineering is present in Armenia since 2009. For 13 years we work hand by hand with very qualified professionals, starting from our clients, our staff, and our partners. We have received a lot from the country and the organisation of this summer school is just a very humble way to say thanks and to return part of it.
