The Republic of Kazakhstan is immerse in a very ambitious programme for the enhancement of the Centre-South Road Corridor, which connects its two biggest cities, Nur-Sultan (Astana) and Almaty. Within this intervention, IRD Engineering has been awarded a new contract for the works supervision of two civil works contracts for the widening into 4 lanes of several road sections with a total length of 85 kilometres.

During the next 29 months, a team of local and international engineers from IRD will review the design documentation, bringing it to the desired standards, and will carry out the supervision of the works according to FIDIC (Multilateral Development Bank Harmonised Edition).

The total investment value of these sections is roughly 56 million Euro, including the construction of a new three span bridge and multiple measures to improve the overall road safety standards.
