The project is co-financed by the European Investment Bank and the EU, and aims at enhancing various water infrastructure schemes in 32 municipalities.

Bosnia and Herzegovina suffers from serious threats to the public health and to the environment from an inadequate water infrastructure. In order to address this issue, a loan agreement was signed with the EIB for the implementation of measures to upgrade infrastructure and service-providing, enabling a correct water supply and the collection and treatment of wastewater.

Thanks to this new contract, a team from IRD and its partners will assist several local governments and utilities during the supervision of the construction of water supply and sewerage systems, and water and wastewater treatment plants. The projects will be implemented according to FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

IRD operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina through its subsidiary company IRD Inzenjering Doo, being licenced for the provision of engineering design and supervision services in accordance with the national regulations in the field.
