Project Implementation Support – Water Supply Energy Efficiency Project

The assignment is related to the “Project Implementation Support for Modernization of 118 pumping stations in Andizhan, Fergana and Namangan Regions”, funded by EBRD, a 200 million USD loan aimed at enhance the efficiency of the regional irrigation water conveyancing system, important to a region dependent on irrigated agriculture and known for relatively low levels of rainfall throughout the year.

By engaging in such green projects, the aim is not only to improve the efficiency of water use vital to this region, but also help increase the irrigated area, with the potential to stimulate economic growth and employment opportunities in Uzbekistan’s most densely populated region.

A team of specialists from IRD Engineering provide project implementation support services to the Centre for Implementation of Foreign Investment Projects in the Water Sector under the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, focusing on the assistance to PIU organizational matters, procurement, tendering and contract implementation, ssistance with compliance and reporting obligations under the financing documents as well as environmental and social implementation support in accordance with EBRD’s Procurement Policies and Rules.
