Consultancy Services for Technical Audits for Sections Dlobocica – Catala and Kriva Palanka Dlobocica

The Public Enterprise for State Roads (PESR) from the Republic of North Macedonia is the project promoter in the construction of a new express road from Rankovce to Kriva Palanka. The Project, financed by the World Bank, is designed to be approximately 25 km-long, being carried out in two lots:

Lot 1: Construction of the Express Road А2, Section Dlabocica – Catal, and

Lot 2: Construction of Express Road A2, Section Kriva Palanka –  Dlabocica.

Both sections are part of the wider Pan-European Corridor VIII, which connects the Adriatic Sea (Bari – Brindisi) with the Black Sea, passing through Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria. Undoubtedly, it is one of the two most important international roads crossing the country.

The purpose is to increase the level of traffic and traffic safety on the corridor Kafasan – Kicevo – Gostivar – Skopje – Kumanovo – Deve Bair, and to shorten the traveling time between Skopje and Sofia.

The main objective of the technical audits is to verify, independently, whether the road on both lots is being constructed in accordance with the civil works contracts, the relevant standards and specifications, and good international practice. Also, to verify that the documentation, timeliness and overall quality of project management, supervision and construction is appropriate.
