Construction Supervision of Civil Works on M2 Chisinau – Soroca Road

The State Road Administration, on behalf of the Government of Moldova represented by the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, applied the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD and EIB towards the cost of implementation of the M2 Chisinau – Soroca Road Rehabilitation Project.

The Consultancy Services included Supervision of Works for two contract packages:

1. Contract RSPSP/W2/02: Rehabilitation of M2 Chisinau-Soroca road km 26+200 – km 54+850
2. Contract RSPSP/W2/03: Rehabilitation of M2 Chisinau-Soroca road km 54+850 – km 71+165

The works carried out (2 lanes/4lanes national road) included the resurfacing and strengthening works for a total of 45km of existing roads in the central area of Moldova. The Project also included works for traffic safety measures, road signs and road markings, cross drainage structures, and environmental and social mitigation measures.

In addition to the overlay and pavement reconstruction works, there was a limited amount of reparation works to shoulders and side drainage and to structures. Structural works comprised remedial works to a total of 8 bridges and construction of a new bridge.

IRD Engineering provided all services and carried out the duties of “The Engineer” in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contracts for Construction (MDBH Edition).
