Construction Supervision of Civil Works Contracts for Upgrading of Km 0+000 to Km 46+000 of M-5 Yevlakh Zagatala – Georgian Border road and Rehabilitation of Regional Road R-57, 12 Km (Km 46+000 of M-5 to Sheki town) and Reconstruction of Ujar – Zardab – Agjabadi Section (70.50 Km)

The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan had requested the ADB to provide financial assistance for the Second Road Network Development Investment Program and part of these funds were used for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Roads M5, R32, and R57. The works contracts aimed at the reconstruction of 128 kilometers of roads and were organized in 4 lots with an overall budget of almost 140 million Euro.

IRD Engineering assisted the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads in the administration of the Bank-funded works contracts carrying out the duties of the Engineer as defined in the FIDIC MDB Harmonized Edition. The team reviewed the detailed design, ensured that the works are constructed in accordance with the technical specifications, and advised the Employer on all matters concerning implementation, including quality control, progress of work, arbitration or litigation, and certification for payments.
