Blast Vulnerability Assessment and Design of the Retrofit of an International Organization’s Premises in Algeria

The assignment consisted on the provision of survey services and blast vulnerability assessment of a facility identified by an important International Organization as its possible new office in Algiers.

The engineering services included the following tasks:

• Evaluation of the performance of structure and façade against four possible explosive charges;
• Provision of advice for retrofit measures and costs;
• Evaluation of other scenarios at northern and southern entry control points, considering the possibility of further traffic limitations;
• Seismic Vulnerability Assessments, including proposal of possible retrofitting works.
