IRD Engineering is proud to celebrate the opening of the Doboj Jug – Medakovo section of Corridor Vc, a key milestone in the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s strategic transport network.

The newly opened section comprises approximately 8.5 km of motorway infrastructure, including six bridges, multiple underpasses and overpasses, and the cut-and-cover Hrastik Tunnel, significantly improving regional connectivity and bringing the country one step closer to the completion of the Pan-European Corridor Vc.

Corridor Vc is the backbone of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s transport system and a vital component of the extended TEN-T Mediterranean Corridor, linking Central Europe with the Adriatic Sea and enhancing regional integration, trade, mobility and economic development.

As Supervision Consultant, IRD Engineering provided construction supervision services under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction (Red Book 1999), supporting the Employer throughout the implementation of the project and during the Defects Notification Period.

This achievement would not have been possible without the strong commitment and cooperation of all stakeholders. We would like to congratulate JP Autoceste FBiH for their continued leadership in delivering one of the most important infrastructure programmes in the Western Balkans.

We also acknowledge the crucial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), whose financing has been instrumental in advancing Corridor Vc, as well as the contribution of the WBIF – Western Balkans Investment Framework through EU grant funding that continues to accelerate the development of strategic transport infrastructure across the region.

Our appreciation also goes to our subcontractors, local authorities, designers, engineers, contractors and all project participants who contributed their expertise and dedication to the successful delivery of this section.

We are honoured to have played our part in delivering another key link of Corridor Vc, a project that will generate lasting benefits in terms of mobility, road safety, economic growth and regional connectivity for years to come.
