IRD Engineering is proud to be part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen climate-resilient transport infrastructure in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
Recently, our team joined the World Bank mission on site, together with representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), as part of the Project Implementation Support and Works Supervision Consultancy for the improvement of local roads across five provinces, as well as the National Road 2 – West Section.
This initiative goes beyond enhancing connectivity: it is about building sustainable, climate-resilient infrastructure capable of withstanding extreme weather events while fostering long-term social and economic development in northern Laos.
During the mission, the joint team assessed the progress of ongoing works, analyzed implementation challenges, and identified mitigation measures to ensure quality, durability, and timely delivery of road rehabilitation and construction activities.
The project also aims to integrate climate adaptation strategies into design and construction practices — a key step toward a safer, greener, and more inclusive transport network.
IRD Engineering is honored to contribute to a program that combines technical excellence, environmental sustainability, and tangible benefits for local communities, reinforcing our commitment to resilient infrastructure worldwide.
