On 25 September 2025, IRD Engineering and its partners participated in the RAMS Workshop on Variables, Indicators and Means to Reach the Goals and Objectives Set for the Albanian Road Authority, held in Tirana.

The event gathered representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the Albanian Road Authority (ARA), the Albanian Institute of Transport, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, and several NGOs.

Discussions were structured around five key themes:

  • The main enablers of ARA’s reform to enhance road network management, including asset management;
  • High-level indicators proposed for ARA’s performance evaluation;
  • Introduction to Road Asset Management (RAMS) as a cornerstone for efficiency, savings, and sustainability;
  • Initial findings and data challenges impacting RAMS implementation;
  • Next steps for RAMS 2.0 and the future Service Level Agreement between the Government of Albania and ARA.

This activity is part of the “Support for Road Sector Reform and Road Safety Strategy” project, funded by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance and managed by the EU Delegation to Albania. The project is being implemented by a Consortium led by IRD Engineering, with SUEZ Consulting Engineering and DRI upravljanje investicij d.o.o. as partners.

IRD Engineering is proud to contribute to Albania’s efforts in building safer, sustainable, and better-managed road infrastructure, supporting the country’s long-term development and EU integration process.
