Proud to share that IRD Engineering has officially started a detailed technical study of the Ibar Bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica, commissioned by the EU Office in Kosovo as part of the SEA 2023 framework.
This is far more than a structural check. Over the next six months, our team—led by Francesco Rucci and Veton Pira—will assess the bridge’s seismic resilience, overall technical condition, and its role within the urban and environmental landscape.
The Ibar Bridge has been in the spotlight for over two decades—not just for its engineering, but for its symbolic role between North and South Mitrovica. We’re proud to be part of a project that looks to the future, focusing on safety, connectivity, and sustainability.
This study is funded under the IPA 2022 Annual Action Programme for Kosovo (IPA III), and includes a strong team of local and regional experts in structural engineering, geotechnics, planning, and environmental protection.
