IRD Engineering S.r.l. in consortium with Roughton International Limited as the lead partner, has signed a new technical assistance and supervision contract in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will proudly continue to facilitate development and improvement of road transport infrastructure in the country.

The contract was signed on 25th of March 2025 at the headquarters of JP Autoceste FBiH in Mostar by Mr. Denis Lasić, director of JP Autoceste FBiH and Stephen Kimmett, representative of the Consortium. The signing was also attended by Minela Bašić, head of IRD Engineering S.r.l. branch office in Sarajevo.

The works to be supervised are the construction of the Mostar North – Mostar South section of the motorway on Corridor Vc. The pan-European route Corridor Vc Budapest-Osijek-Sarajevo-Ploče has a status of a priority infrastructure project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Mostar North – Mostar South section is a part of the LOT 4 of the Corridor and starts with the Mostar North Interchange (connection to M17) in the Kutilivac settlement, continues east of settlement Vrapcici, and ends with the Mostar South Interchange near the Mostar airport, which is part of the Mostar South – Tunnel Kvanj Subsection. The section has a total length of 13.8 kilometers and passes mainly through hilly and mountainous terrain and will have 11 bridges/viaducts, six two-pipe tunnels, three underpasses, and two overpasses. It will also have a Center for Traffic Control and Management (COKP) as part of the Mostar North interchange. Mostar is a renown cultural, industrial and administrative center of Herzegovina, connected with Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by M17 road 120 km and the railway.

Over the next 58 months, IRD Engineering S.r.l. will be providing support to the JP Autoceste FBiH in procurement and contracting of works, followed by supervision activities during 30 months of construction supervision and 24-month warranty period (DNP).

The total value of the Contract is EUR 8,189,618.62 including VAT, and the funds have been secured under a loan signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
