We are excited to announce that IRD Engineering, in partnership with ENIVROPLAN, has been selected to provide engineering and consultancy services for the Moldova Solid Waste Management Project. This major initiative, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and co-financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB), is a key step towards transforming solid waste management across the country.

Project Highlights:

  • Development of Waste Management Zones (WMZs) in Ungheni, Nisporeni, Călărași, Edineț, Dondușeni, Ocnița, Briceni, and Cahul, Cantemir, Taraclia, Comrat (ATU Gagauzia).
  • Major improvements to waste collection, transportation, and disposal infrastructure to meet EU environmental standards.
  • Strengthening of local capacity, regional collaboration, and environmental sustainability.

This project represents a significant milestone as IRD Engineering continues to expand its environmental engineering portfolio, focusing on projects that contribute to sustainability and improved public health. As the appointed Consultant, we will provide technical assistance, preliminary design, capacity building, and supervision throughout the project, while ensuring compliance under FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

Launching in January 2025, with a duration of 5 years, this project is a critical step in Moldova’s journey toward reducing pollution and enhancing environmental practices.
