IRD Engineering strengthens its presence in Armenia with the signature of a new contract for the preliminary and detailed designs and author supervision services of a 45 km-long road section.

IRD started operating in Armenia back in 2009. Nowadays, the company is implementing several projects in the country, mainly in the fields of transport infrastructure where IRD is participating in three projects within the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program.

This important infrastructure Program aims at connecting the Southern border of Armenia with its Northern point by means of the new 470 km-long alignment Meghri – Yerevan – Gyumri – Bavra. It is foreseen that the time needed to travel this road will decrease from 9.5 hours to 4.5 hours, increasing comfort and safety, and becoming a transit route of freight.

Financed by the Eurasian Development Bank, IRD Engineering has been awarded a new contract with the Armenian Transport Project Implementation Organization (TPIO). A team of IRD and GP Ingegneria will prepare the preliminary and detailed designs for Tranche 4, Kajaran-Agarak-Meghri (45 km), including a 6 km-long tunnel. Besides, IRD will also provide author supervision services for one lot of 32 km.
