Technical Assistance for Capacity Building the General Directorate for Highways (KGM) on Road Infrastructure Safety Management

The assignment, funded by the European Union, aims at harmonizing the Turkish legislation on road safety with the EU Directive 2008/96/EC and at enhancing the administrative capacities within the General Directorate of Highways to implement road infrastructure safety management.

Among other activities, a team of experts from the partner companies identify necessary legislative amendments and prepare draft law, bylaws, and guidelines. They also elaborate handbooks and organize and conduct training programmes on road safety impact assessment, road safety audit, road safety inspection and network safety management, taking the best practices from EU Member States.
