Supervision Services of the A3 Motorway, Section 2A: Ogra – Campia Turzii, Lot 3 Chetani – Campia Turzii

The A3 is a partially-built motorway in Romania, connecting its capital city Bucharest with the Transylvania region and the north-western part of the country. Once completed, it will be 596 km-long and will run along the route Ploiești, Brașov, Făgăraș, Sighișoara, Târgu Mureș, Cluj-Napoca, Zalău and Oradea, connecting with Hungary’s M4 motorway.

In this context, IRD Engineering was awarded a service contract for the Compania Nationala de Administrare a Infrastructurii Rutiere (CNAIR), aimed at the supervision of the design and construction of one of the last missing sections: the 2A3 Lot, Chețani — Câmpia Turzii (km 21+500 to km 37+191), which is part of the Trans-European Transport (TEN-T) Comprehensive Network.

Thanks to this important contract, a team of local engineers from IRD Engineering provide full supervision services for the design and build of 15.7 km of roads, one double trumpet interchange, 9 bridges and passageways and one maintenance and coordination center. The geometry of the cross-section shall ensure for each traffic lane a width of the carriageway of 12,00 m, with a space of 3,00 m between the two traffic lanes.

The supervision contract is implemented in accordance with the Romanian legislation in force and in full compliance with the engineering design, technical specifications and other contract documents.
