Supervision of Works Under the Livable Cities Investment Project for Balanced Development

The Livable Cities Investment Project for Balanced Development is a 120-million USD program financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It aims at enabling an inclusive and balanced regional development by capitalizing on ongoing investments in connectivity to develop economic clusters as hubs for tourism and associated business, building on the comparative advantages of each region (natural, cultural and human asset).

The foreseen investments cover the upgrade of city centres and community facilities, such as municipal parks, kindergartens, sports complexes, libraries, or cultural heritage structures. The implementing agencies are the Municipal Fund of Georgia (MDF) for regional projects, and the Tbilisi Development Fund (TDF) for Tbilisi City projects.

In this context, a Joint Venture led by IRD Engineering signed a contract for the provision of consultancy services in the day-to-day supervision of civil works for the construction of the “Dighomi Meadows Park” and other municipal parks in Tbilisi.

The purpose of the construction supervision is to execute control over the construction works in order to ensure high quality of construction, adherence to the terms of work execution provided in the construction contracts, compliance with the detailed design and specification requirements, and finalization within costs and approved schedule of works. The duration of the assignment is 18 months plus a 12 months Defects Notification Period.
