Preliminary and Detailed Design for an Embassy in Mogadiscio

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs intended to build a structure, to be used as the headquarters of its new Embassy, in the area located inside the international airport of Mogadiscio, destined to host the offices and accommodation of the Ambassador and the employees.

The structure was designed to initially accommodate 30 people (including 2/4 persons per shift of 2/3 months as vehicle and maintenance officers) and to be subsequently upgraded to accommodate an additional 10 people. The project included an Entry Control Point (ECP) and secured access areas.

IRD Engineering’s led the preparation of the site surveys and the overall preliminary (35%) and robust (70%) design.
