Framework Agreement for Supervision of Repair Works of Republican Roads on the Territory of Bulgaria – Lot 3

The consortium IRD Engineering – Ekoengineering – Kontpas has been awarded a framework agreement with the Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency (API) covering Region 3 (Burgas, Sliven, and Yambol) in south-eastern Bulgaria.

This assignment follows a previous framework contract awarded to the same consortium under Lot 8 (Haskovo, Kardzhali, and Stara Zagora), as part of the national public procurement procedure “Repair Works of Republican Roads on the Territory of Bulgaria – Framework Agreement for Nine Lots.”

Together, these contracts reinforce the consortium’s role in Bulgaria’s national road infrastructure programme, aimed at improving the technical condition, safety, and operational performance of the republican road network.

The framework agreement for Region 3 covers approximately 2,418 km of roads, including motorways, expressways, and Class I, II, and III roads, as well as associated infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels, culverts, interchanges, and retaining structures.

Under the framework agreements, IRD Engineering, in consortium with Ekoengineering and Kontpas, provides supervision and technical control services for rehabilitation, reconstruction, and major repair works, in compliance with Bulgarian legislation.

IRD Engineering’s responsibilities include:

• Preparation of conformity assessment reports
• Structural technical control
• Supervision of construction works for rehabilitation and reconstruction projects
• Monitoring compliance with technical standards and national regulations
• Ensuring quality, safety, and performance of the road infrastructure assets
