Detailed Design and Works Supervision for Gradiska – Banja Luka Motorway
The upgrading of main highways to international standards was an essential objective of the Bosnian Government. East-West axis between Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro, along the Sava River, and North-South axis, from Croatia to the Adriatic Sea through Bosnia (part of Corridor Vc), were subject to an intense upgrading through funding from the different IFIs.
This project was financed by EBRD and intended to implement the existing road linking Banja Luka to Gradiska and the border with Croatia with the construction of a new 4-lane full-standard motorway.
The project consisted of three main phases:
- Detailed design of the 4-lanes motorway section, 26,5 km, including 2 interchanges, 11 overpasses, 2 underpasses, 5 bridges on the main alignment, and 3 bridges on the secondary roads.
- Procurement services related to the works tendering;
- Supervision of the construction works (undertaking the duties of “The Engineer” under FIDIC Conditions, First Edition, 1999) and assistance during Defects Notification Period.
