A ceremony marking the breakthrough of the longest tunnel on Corridor Vc in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Golubinja tunnel (3,610 meters), was held this morning counting on the participation of the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Nermin Nikšić, the Acting Director of the Public Company Autoceste FBiH, Mr. Denis Lasić, the Federal Minister of Transport and Communications, Mrs. Andrijana Katić, the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Adebayo Babajide, the Head of the Country Office of the European Investment Bank, Mrs. Sandrine Friscia, as well as senior representatives of the contractor Cengiz insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Asim Cengiz and the Engineer, IRD Engineering.

The Golubinja Tunnel is part of the Poprikuše – Nemila section of the Pan European Corridor Vc, the main international transport corridor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all works are being supervised by IRD Engineering , “the Engineer” in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract – Yellow Book.

The construction of this section, with contracted works which amounts to 251 million euros plus VAT, is financed by loan agreements concluded with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), and with grants from the European Union (EU).

During the ceremony, Mr. Denis Lasić, Acting Director of the Public Company Autoceste FBiH declared: “This success is not accidental, but the result of all joint efforts of a hardworking team of our experts and all our partners. The completion of Corridor Vc is our strategic priority and we are working hard to connect the entire northern part of the Corridor, from Sarajevo to Sava, in the second half of 2026″.

With over a billion euros of EIB loans and grants already invested in Corridor Vc, we continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people with firm perseverance”, stated Mrs. Sandrine Friscia, Head of the EIB Office in the country.
